Not at all, you will be just fine using it on a fixed width as well, but the blog will not be responsive anymore, obviously.

FollowFluid or Fixed Width?
Hi, Our website pages are all designed in fixed width. We use two layouts, desktop and mobile. When designing in desktop mode we copy some of the content to mobile layout and adjust according. We prefer not to use Fluid width since takes too long to design for every screen sizes. Our pages have too many elements to adjust for all devices. Plus, we can you use effects and parallax scrolling, not an option in Fluid width.
Will Muse Blog have any issues designing in fixed width?
